It's not as hot in Boonville today as it was yesterday, but it's still pretty warm. I was able to keep the front door of my new office open all morning but by noontime I had to close it and turn on the air - an improvement over getting here and immediately turning it on as I did yesterday!
I'm settling in to my new office space. I spent Monday cleaning the bathroom and the office; the office hadn't been occupied in four years, so there was a bit of dusting and cleaning to do. It's a cute space with two walls of glass panels and two solid walls - well, actually, they might also be glass, just painted solid. I have quite a view on the happenings in the middle of Boonville. After I cleaned I organized, rearranging things on the shelves and in the desk and putting my own personal touch on things. I'm fortunate to have several beautiful vases from Pepperwood Pottery to display (thank you Doug for leaving them here!) and that really spiffs it up. As the week has unfolded I've added a few other things - a coffee pot (stop by for a cup), a small fridge and microwave, an orchid and some photos.
I've had a few walk-ins (people inquiring about real estate) and a few people just stopping by to say hello. I get to see my friend Cecilia walking to and from the post office most days and we share a word. And I've spent more time and money at Rossi's and the AV Market in the past four days than probably in the past year! I love being able to walk a few feet and get what I need. Being on the main through-way helps too - my uncle and his wife stopped by minutes ago on their way home to Sebastopol after visiting their property out Clow Ridge.
I'm trying to keep office hours every day Monday through Friday from 10am to 4pm; I'm finding I need to run out to meet people or show property, though, so if I'm not in the office just give me a call on my mobile - it's likely I'm not too far away! And if you stop by in the morning I'm likely to have the coffee on. Hope to see you soon!
